Biography Edit[]
Xiahou Xuan was related to Xiahou Yuan, the great archer, and was thus related Cao Cao and his grandnephew, the regent of Wei Cao Shuang. In AD 243, he commanded a part of the Wei invasion force when Cao Shuang attacked Shu, hoping to conquer it. But Cao Shuang was careless in preparing battle formations and suffered a disastrous loss. Xiahou Xuan remained loyal to Wei following the death of Cao Shuang, but then noticed how Sima Shi was usurping Emperor Cao Fang's power. He wanted a more mature ruler, Cao Mao, on the throne, so he rebelled, but was killed.
